Born in 1953, Jaswant Khalsa is an American artist who lives and works in the Southwestern U.S.  As the oldest daughter of Bostonians and a military father, until her teens, she grew up mostly in the Northeastern U.S., England, and Japan.  During 1978-2015, she made her home in Phoenix, AZ, where she also became an Elementary Montessori teacher.  Khalsa works in acrylic paints and inks, primarily focusing on abstract figurative work. She particularly enjoys live figure drawing.  In 2015, she and her husband relocated to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico where her large acrylic paintings were exhibited at Light of the Soul Studio and Gallery.   In 2020, she and her husband moved south to Las Cruces, NM.  Since then, her stylistic acrylic ink and pen images are created and archived in several bound journals of handmade hemp paper.  These smaller works on paper are sold as giclee prints. Jaswant is married with grown children.  She also writes poetry; studies astrology, human design, tai chi, French, and Spanish; and plays at playing the piano.
